Despite his Silver Spring restaurant, Carolina Kitchen, burning down in 2003, restaurateur Lance London made a comeback in Largo, Maryland in 2005 at Capital Centre. This spring he’ll be opening a more upscale version of his soul food restaurant in Hyattsville, MD. But, that’s not all. Landon has plans to open an 11,000 square foot version in the U Street Corridor next year, as well as a 9,000 square foot one in Chinatown. Landon’s family is from North Carolina, and the inspiration behind Carolina Kitchen was his grandmother “Ma Pearl.” To learn more read this article in the Gazette. I’ve never been to a Carolina Kitchen, but if it is so popular that people are waiting outside in lines, rain or shine, and Landon has the ability to open so many locations, it likely is good. Anyone ever ate there before?
