Well, you might think that’s true if you follow the Catholic Church and agree with the Vatican’s new set of seven deadly sins (old ones still apply, too). Littering would fall under the category of one of its new deadly sins: environmental pollution. The other new ones include drug abuse, excessive wealth, creation of poverty, abortion, pedophilia (hits close to home for the Vatican, eh?) and genetic manipulation. Controversial, no? Anyway, as far as pollution goes, there is not one person, I don’t care how green you try to be and live, who doesn’t impact the environment in some way, so the Vatican may have just condemned itself to Hades. yes, indeed, we all leave a carbon footprint, bless our hearts. Regardless, I really, really hate to see litter and trash in the streets, on the sidewalks, and in people’s yards, namely mine (I didn’t put it there!). I neatly put out my trash and recycling receptacles last night, only to discover this morning that some nitwit decided that they should dump the remnants of their late night McDonald’s meal, bag, sweet and sour sauce, chicken sandwich and all right next to my garbage bin. They couldn’t even open the darn thing and put it inside (there was room). That just irks me. Littering is incredibly low down, and so are the people who do it. Does this irk anyone else as much as it irks me?! Is there a way to combat this?
